Visa: Australians need one
Australian passport holders need a visa for Vietnam. The usual option is the official e-visa at evisa.gov.vn. It's valid for up to 90 days, single or multiple entry, and costs US$25 single or US$50 multiple. You'll need a passport valid for 6+ months, a passport scan and a photo, and processing usually takes 3–5 working days. - Dentist and registration: who places the implant, where they trained, and how many implant cases they do.
- Implant brand in writing: major brands such as Straumann or Nobel Biocare are easier for an Australian dentist to service later.
- 3D planning: a CBCT scan before surgery, not just a 2D X-ray.
- Infection control: ask how instruments are sterilised, and look at the clinic.
- An itemised written quote: including grafting, the abutment and the final crown, so there are no surprises.
- Aftercare: what happens if something goes wrong in Australia, in writing.
